Vehicles which exceed 7 model years in age or 100,000 miles are sold mechanically and aesthetically "as-is" unless the dealer chooses to make an exception and supply the buyer with a warranty at the dealers discretion. When a vehicle is sold which is less than 7 model years old and has mileage within the 60,001-100,000 range state law allows the dealer to sell the vehicle "as-is" whereby the buyer shall waive(give up)their right to the state mandated warranty when the buyer negotiates a lower price without the warranty.
